Don is an urban planner with an educational background in architecture, planning, and real estate development. He and his wife are lifelong Minnesotans who have recently made St. Louis Park their home.
Inspired by his time studying abroad in Copenhagen and utilizing the world-class bicycle and transit systems the city had to offer, Don hopes to bring the lessons learned abroad back to the Twin Cities to advocate for better facilities and investments into the transportation network. Through his experience in both his professional and advocacy roles, he has helped push for new, high-quality bicycling and pedestrian trails in Minnesota and Florida. It is because of the new investments into the region’s bike trail network and LRT network that Don decided to start his family in St. Louis Park.
Active transportation plays a big role in everyone’s daily lives. It affects how a person or a family gets to where they need to go. It affects the long-term financial plans of each person or family. It effects the quality of life for people of all ages and abilities and it effects the community it serves. In other words, it gives people the freedom of choice with options that do not require a household to have a car. Don seeks to help advocate for more safe transportation options, not just for the current generation, but for the future generations of communities in the area and region.
